(April 9, 2019) Market Manager – Couet Farm & Fromagerie

At Couet Farm & Fromagerie we create small batch, handmade cheeses. We work directly with local family dairies. As one cheese competition judge put it, we are known for our “beautiful craftsmanship and dedication to quality.” This is a reputation that all of us embody, here at the Fromagerie.

If you love cheese and your local agricultural community, if you feel immense satisfaction when you’ve cleaned and organized a room or balanced your checkbook, if you like the intensity of a small, start-up business and you can see yourself grow with it, this is for you.

We have an opening for a Market Manager. This is a part time position involving weekend, weekday, and occasional evening hours, depending on event opportunities. The Market Manager reports to the owner of Couet Farm & Fromagerie. We are looking at expanding our small team, where we rely on each other and each of us wears many hats. We expect the new hire to be flexible and excited to grow with the company; someone with the drive to learn quickly and become independent.

The Market Manager must enjoy interacting with all kinds of people in a sales setting. The new hire must be thorough and highly organized. Ideally, our Market Manager will be familiar with sales and events, aware of food safety, and will become passionate about our cheeses. The Market Manager will continue to maintain our excellent reputation for outstanding customer service and will be the face of our company.

Moreover, working a farmers’ market is physically demanding and involves standing for hours and talking with every customer that walks by. The Market Manager must follow written and verbal instructions, take and note measurements, count, lift heavy objects, work fast and meticulously, and work and drive outside in all weather.
